Compound does not collect, store, transmit or sell any personal information. There is no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no account. This page explains what that means precisely, rather than in the usual language.

What we collect

Nothing. Jaceal LLC receives no data from Compound of any kind. We cannot see your balances, your contributions, your tax rates, the names you give people or accounts, how often you open the app, what device you use, or whether you use it at all.

What stays on your device

Compound saves what you type, on your device, so it is still there next time:

Your scenarios — starting amounts, contributions, rates, spans, goals and account types
Your folders, the people you name them after, and the tax rates you set for each
Your retirement drawdown assumptions
Display preferences: the chart range, the colours you pick, which folders and accounts you have marked private, and light or dark appearance

All of it lives in the app's own storage on this device, using Apple's standard on-device database and settings storage. It is never uploaded. There is no iCloud sync and no server copy. Deleting Compound deletes all of it, which is why the app includes a Backup file you can keep yourself.

Network requests

Compound works entirely offline. Every projection, tax figure and drawdown is computed on your device.

Compound talks to Apple, and only to Apple, in two places:

Settings → Our other apps makes a plain HTTPS GET to Apple's public itunes.apple.com lookup endpoint, to show the current name and icon of our other apps. It carries no account, no identifier and no information about you or your scenarios.
Compound Pro uses Apple's StoreKit to ask the App Store for Pro's price in your country and whether your Apple ID already owns it. That conversation is between your device and Apple; nothing you have typed into Compound is part of it.

Neither involves a server of ours. We do not have one.

In-app purchase

Compound is free. Compound Pro is an optional one-time in-app purchase. When you buy or restore it, Apple handles the whole transaction — your payment method, your Apple ID and your billing details go to Apple and never to us. Apple gives developers only aggregated, anonymous sales reports (for example, how many copies sold in a country); we cannot tell who bought Pro. Whether you own Pro is checked on your device with Apple's signed receipt. Family Sharing is handled by Apple in the same way. Refunds are requested from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.

What Compound does not contain

No analytics or telemetry SDK. No advertising SDK or ad identifier (IDFA). No crash-reporting service of our own (if you choose to share diagnostics with Apple in iOS Settings, Apple may share anonymous crash logs with us). No payment processor other than Apple. No social login. No third-party software development kits of any kind. No App Tracking Transparency prompt, because there is nothing to track.

Financial information you enter

Balances, contributions, employer matches, tax rates and goals are ordinary numbers to this app: they are used to compute what is shown on screen and are stored only on your device. They are not transmitted, not analysed, not shared with any third party, and not used to build a profile of you. Jaceal LLC never sees them.

Sharing a plan, if you choose to

Compound can export a scenario or a whole folder as a file you send yourself — by AirDrop, Messages, Mail or Files. That file contains the assumptions you chose to share and goes only where you send it. It does not pass through any server of ours. Backup files work the same way: they are written where you tell iOS to put them, and we never see them.

Children

Compound is a general-audience calculator. It is not directed at children, and it collects no data from anyone, including children.

Your rights

Laws such as the GDPR and the CCPA give you rights to access, correct, delete or port the personal data a company holds about you. Jaceal LLC holds none, so there is nothing for us to return or erase. The data is on your device and entirely under your control: Settings → Delete everything removes it inside the app, and deleting the app removes it with the app. We do not sell or share personal information, because we do not have any.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the revised version will be posted here with a new date. Material changes will also appear in the app's release notes.
